Seraphim offers unique, custom designed wooden cremation or funeral urns that can be used for burial or kept as an exquisite reminder of a loved one who has passed on. Each funeral urn is created in close consultation with the patron, whose design wishes are matched as closely as possible.
All cremation urns are hand turned by master lathesman, Michael South. Individual preferences in wood, such as oak, ash, maple, walnut, mahogany, rosewood, etc. are taken into consideration. The gallery photos show a range of shapes, which may be thought of as templates. Or patrons can propose a different design that has special meaning. Funeral urns can be further individualized by the use of inlays, such as brass, silver or polished agate, malachite, abalone or mother-of-pearl. And each burial urn is crowned by a finial, also chosen by the patron. A custom made Seraphim funeral urn is the result of a close collaboration between the artist and the patron. It is understood that the creation of a burial urn for a lost loved one is often a final act of devotion. Each funeral urn is approached sensitively and reverently.
